Summertime is the perfect time to hit one of the many ATV trails in the state of Alabama. You can take a day trip or an overnight journey to one of the many trails, but no matter where you go, you can always count on having some real outdoor fun at these trails!
Minooka Park
Located in Chilton County, Alabama, Minooka Park sports miles of trails that are specifically designated for off-road ATV use. There are two trail zones at Minooka Park: Trail Zone A is for vehicles 50-inches or less including Dirt Bikes, and Trail Zone B which is designated for Side X Side UTVs, ATVs, and Dirt Bikes.
If you’d like to make a weekend out of your visit to Minooka Park, there are lots of things to do other than a trail ride. There are also great hiking trails and Minooka Lake is stocked with largemouth bass for fishing. Primitive campsites and RV campgrounds are also available. Minooka Park is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. and is located at 1922 County Road 146 Jemison, AL 35085.
Stony Lonesome OHV Park
If you’re looking for one of the ultimate ATV trail destinations in the state, then you will find it at Stony Lonesome OHV Park in Bremen, AL. Stony Lonesome offers over 1,456 acres of trails for “ATVs, rock crawlers, dirt bikes, mountain bikers, equestrians, hikers, pedestrians, and much more,” according to their website. The park hosts a variety of events including Night Rides, Mud Runs, and Jeep Jamborees, as well.
Stony Lonesome also offers a full range of overnight accommodations including cabins, tents, units, and RV camping sites. The park itself is open Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays from 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., and on Fridays and Saturdays from 8:30 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. Stony Lonesome OHV Park is located at 10075 Alabama Highway 69 South Bremen, AL 35033.
The Ridge
The Ridge in Springville, AL has over 35 miles of one-way OHV trails and all are marked by difficulty level. These trails are available for use by “motorcycles, four wheelers, and side by sides,” according to The Ridge website. The Ridge also hosts events like Hare Scramble Races, Kids Motocross, and trail running races.
There’s even a 12,000 square foot clubhouse on site with Pro Shop, hotel rooms, and grill/restaurant. Hours of operation are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9:00 A.M. from 6:00 P.M. The Ridge is located at 8745 Pine Mountain Rd. Springville, AL 35146.
